I already dedicated an article to the Self.styled portraits (see previous article here ). Even if Anthony Lycett, has released his book Self.Styled (find it on amazone) he is carrying on his project shooting in our home studio. Because we share the same workspace, I am often working on my own costumes when all theses incredible people come to get their portrait done. Then it is easy for me to cheekily stick some accessories on top of their amazing looks. Of course, I always try to match the piece to fit with the style and the aesthetic of the clothes.

It allowed Anthony to develop a side project "Into the blue" using a blue background rather than the white one to make the colours pop and highlight details.

Some people think I am a party animal but I have so much work that I am generally in bed by 10.30. I am bit like an hermit going out of her cave only for special occasions.

Most people photographed for Self.Styled are night creatures, performers, club kids, burlesque artists... so it is great to be able to meet them in an other context, without being part of this scene.

Through this eclectic gallery of characters, you can see that the project doesn't focus on beauty standard but personality. Anthony Lycett doesn't retouch people's features, maybe a brighter skin or tidy a piece of hair but that is it.

I not fascinated by celebrity. Through my extra jobs, I have been in the same room as David Beckam or Kristin scott thomas, but I wasn't, that impress.

I am more overwhelmed when I meet theses beautiful creative people, in the inside and the outside, passionate, multi- talented, driven sometimes scarifying their material comfort to follow their dream and their carrier despite all the obstacles.
