Style week rather than fashion week

Twirling tassels & barbie hair by Marie-Paola Bertrand-Hillion,
I know when it is the end of the winter not by the days getting longer but by AW fashion week coming! Here I come again, submitting my wearable art outfit to the fashion world; I don't care if I am out of trend or doing a "fashion faux pas" cameras always love my look!
Interviewed by Now Magazine picture by
Marie-Paola Bertrand-Hillion,

You have so many street style photographer at the Fashion week but only one like Marie Paula, She is is the best to capture a little details, an accessory that catch her eyes, a gaze, an expression a mood…She doesn't just snap you for a "quick" shoot, she takes the time to put you in front of a nice background making sure you are not standing in front of a bin, she  gently arranges a hair strand on your forehead.  She is the best to capture the movement, the endless effervescence of this fashion world.

The headpiece is made from flowers with a skull at the hearts and hearts that Pounland where selling at the Valentine day time.  (when street style blogger ask me to describe my outfit at the LFW people are like "Moschino, Comme des garçons, Chanel"  and I am like "Pounland, charity shop, 99p"). the headpiece is in the art tradition of "momento mori" also inspired by iconoclast Virgin Mary of Jean Paul Gauthier

Marie-Paola Bertrand-Hillion,
I got all theses dolls with purple from Poundland.   Little girl always stare at me when I put all the dolls on display in my shopping basket, I stare at them back "you will do that when you get your own money".  I took the head off (no worry you will find out soon what i did with the body) and embellished the hair with pink & golden beads. I stitched them on a sequins tasseled base.

I like this sea pink tribal style, between the organic aspect of the hair and the shiny-disco  dimension of the sequins.

I find it so funny  that I am categorised as "The one who is so *fashion* it’s a bit scary.", wondering if secret london actually goes out in London and should see my friends who are definitely more hardcore than the sweet colourful creature I am. People took it very seriously on Facebook and  highly defended me (it became a kind of debate around the right to express you own individuality) but at the end of the day I guess don't have to take it at face value!

Since I designed a new website I have more request from stylists to borrow my pieces for fashion editorial, which is good because that mean I don't have to model my  accessories (getting too old for this). I had the opportunity to work with the amazing stylist Marina Sardanopoli, it is so pleasing when you just lend your piece and let the team do their magic and come back to you with amazing shoot that exactly convey the spirit of your design. I also love to snick a bit of wearable art into fashion shoot!

  1. I love the 50 shades of pink dress, that is a favourite. Fashion weeks always make me laugh really. Everyone looks similar or in the same designers and everyone thinks they are amazing, but I always enjoy more the pictures from the streets as that's usually where the colourful people are, the ones that dress themselves and show their 'insides' on the outside. All of your pictures from there were fantastic, love those shoes, brilliant!! Just shows creativity - real creativity cannot be bought or contained in rules or trends, it must flourish and grow as it is intended to. Which is why fashion weeks and fashion itself will continuously be a repetition of the seasons before. It's only those who dare to break away from that, that bring the viewers something new and that is what you do :) x
